In 1992, the Presbyterian Church in America issued a Report on divorce and remarriage following controversy in one of its Presbyteries about divorce for domestic abuse.

Of historical interest is the section of the report titled "The Westminster Divines on Divorce for Physical Abuse".
It is here that I found the Puritan theologians who held the same views that I hold about 1 Cor. 7:15 allowing divorce and remarriage in cases of domestic abuse.
